
The Internal Complaints Committee (ICC) shall function in accordance with the provisions of the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013 ("the Act"). The Act provides protection to women against sexual harassment at the workplace and lays down a comprehensive framework for the prevention of sexual harassment, redressal of complaints, and matters connected therewith or incidental thereto.
The primary objective of the ICC is to prevent sexual harassment of women in any form at the workplace and to uphold the Institute’s commitment to providing a safe, inclusive, and dignified working environment, free from gender-based discrimination.
From time to time, the ICC shall adhere to and implement the relevant provisions of applicable Acts, Rules, Office Memoranda (OMs) issued by the Government of India, and orders of competent courts, as may be in force. The overarching mandate of the ICC is to ensure that no woman is subjected to sexual harassment in any form within the workplace.

The ICC shall conduct inquiries into complaints of sexual harassment in accordance with the provisions of the Act. Based on its findings, the Committee shall recommend appropriate actions in each case.
The ICC shall submit its reports and recommendations to the Director of the Institute.
Complaint regarding sexual harassment against women can be made in the format available at the website of the Institute or in paper form by sending e-mail to ICC@yogamdniy.nic.in, or in person with signature of complainant.
The Act stipulates that an aggrieved woman can make a written complaint of sexual harassment at workplace to the ICC or to the Local Complaints Committee (LCC) (in case a complaint is against the employer), within a period of three months from the date of incident and in case of a series of incidents, within a period of three months from the date of last incident.
As per the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition and Redressal) Act, 2013, in case the aggrieved woman is unable to make a complaint on account of her physical incapacity, a complaint may be filed inter alia by her relative or friend or her co-worker or an officer of the National Commission for Women or State Women's Commission or any person who has knowledge of the incident, with the written consent of the aggrieved woman.
