FAQ's

Fequently Asked Questions

Haṭhapradīpikādescribesāsanas in the sequence of Swastikāsana, Gomukhāsana, Vīrāsana & hellip;..,Bhadrasana while other texts give different sequence.

The basic idea is that by a learner, the āsanas should be performed from simple to difficult ones as per the developmental stages. However, a Yogi or a person who has attained expertise can choose any sequence depending upon his/her aim and requirement.

Āsanasshould be performed before prāṇāyāma. Yogic practices should be performedin the order of first kriyas, then āsanas, thereafter prāṇāyāmaand meditation.

The answer to this question lies in the availability of the time. Normally, a healthy person should practiseāsanas for 45 minutes and prāṇāyāma for 15 to 20 minutes daily.

Āsanas are psycho-physical in nature as they stabilize the mind and the body. Physical exercises on the other hand, are basically physical in nature and benefit the body.

Purity of food leads to purity of mind and facilitates in spiritual development. It is said that the one who takes pure and moderate diet surely gets success in Yoga.
